Did a rare gig where the drums were supplied on this little tiny stage at a big restaurant in hoity-toity Laguna Beach, CA. Thanks to the venue for providing all the big stuff like drums and amps, and even vocal mics - on a Saturday night on the beach, there was literally NO WHERE to park! The restaurant charged me $10 to valet park which was a fair trade. But yeah, the typical 5-piece kit in a 5x4 foot space behind a plastic shield all mic’d up. I thought it was very considerate for the band to put up a banner in front of me on the drum shield with their name on it too.

I look strange without glasses. I had cataract surgery on both eyes 2 weeks ago but I'll get some glasses for close up in a couple weeks.

The indie-alt-rock-Latin-multistyle originals trio had a show the other night at the local museum during their fundraiser evening. The whole museum was open and filled with food, drink and culture exhibits, plus musicians performing on every floor. We closed the evening with a 90 minute set on the main stage downstairs. We went down-volume acoustic and somehow still managed to rock out! I took the Ludwig Standards along because a vintage kit seemed right for a museum -- plus they do lower volume better than my Tamas. Fun!

Looks like you up graded those Ludwig standards. I had a standard kit from approximately 72 to 82 wish I still had them. Yours look nice, I bet they sound great too

I added an Atlas mount on the tom, and an Atlas tom mount and bracket and Gibraltar gullwing spurs to the bass drum, The drums were deeply player grade when I got them, so I felt little compunction in making them as gigworthy as possible. They do look good under lights. The floor tom is not originally a Standard, it was a 3 ply Super Classic in damaged red sparkle wrap. I stripped it, traded out the lugs and brackets, and came up with a computer printed wrap that looks like blue strata from a distance. The floor tom sounds particularly massive when miked, as the below clip shows.
