Post your Gig Pics

Playing at a cruise ship tonight, between Norway and Denmark. Yes, thrash metal at sea 😆🤘. Awesome backline kit, probably the best I've had so far in my career, a DW Collectors. The biggest drawback though, our bassist is back home with covid 😱. He told us after he tested himself yesterday, so no time for a replacement. It would be too bad to cancel so we figured, we try our best anyway. Luckily a lot of friends in the audience that have heard us before.

so which cruise line does a metal crui....oh yeah, you are from Norway....

It went really good despite lacking bass, the crowd was rocking out big time, sang along on most of the songs, and even had some moshpits going. I got nervous for them when the waves in the ocean started to pick up a bit 😆. Luckily I was sitting down, and the rest of the band managed to stay on their feet. 😆

This is a weekend event called Horns Up Metal Cruise, with Agent Steel as the headliner, American speed metal band from the '80s. So quite a big deal for us really. It's quite a humble feeling with so many strangers walking around here on the ship now with our band shirt on... I'm grateful 😀.

so reading about this gig made me look up "metal cruises", and I was floored with how many of these things happen!!!

it is also pretty weird how many of us original metal head types ended up coming out on "the other end" with some expendable income to afford cruises!!!! AND, how "lame" the younger metal heads in us would have thought to be back in the day!!!

getting old is a funny thing

Oh my God.

Taken from the weekend, shortly after slicing a bit of the tip of my finger whilst setting up (something fell on it)

Thankfully had some plasters on me (otherwise my drums would have been more red than black by the end) but not the most comfortable gig.

The show must go on…etc

Hope the finger is better. Get well.

Small gig on Saturday, 30-40 people at a small mountain village. Fun nevertheless, some autograph signings, stick giveaways etc. And together with a warm up band we've been close with for 15 years, always a great time 🙂. Playing the kit of my guitarist, Stage Custom Birch. Sounded great with new Emperor Clear heads.
