Woodshedding for an upcoming recording session. The 10" Tama Metalworks snare below has a uv1 over 300 snare side combo, both pretty damn tight. It has that gunshot pop you'd expect but the natural darker tone of the UV1 combined with the matte black coating inside and outside of the shell gives this drum an impressive amount of body, tone, depth, and nuance. Very impressive for $120. I'm going back to a local favorite studio in a few weeks and planning on using it for the whole session.

Nice! What do you use the Alesis samplepad for?

BTW: I'm a lefty too but I play openhanded and have the ride where you have the Alesis.

Mostly I use it for special effects . I have have a kick drum that almost sounds like a sub boom that is a little shorter than a boom. I use that a lot then I have dogs barking at the end of one song I have an old time train whistle for a Johnny Cash medley we do, The bagpipe intro and explosion for copperhead road, I've got a helicopter crashing and exploding also I don't use that anymore that was for a different band. There's hand claps vibraslap all kinds of procussion sounds. It's great.

Hybrid fun! Preparing for an opening slot for Carole Pope next Fri. Playing a set of 80's UK Pop; Simple Minds, Japan, Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure, Psychedelic Furs, etc.

Acoustic snare (Yamaha 14x6.5 RC Brass), kick, and floor tom (Yamaha AHM). Yamaha DT50 triggers on the snare and kick (1/2), 2x Yamaha XP70 pads (3/4), and 2x Roland BT-1 triger bars (5/6)
I have always wanted to do that sort of 80's gig, inc!using Indochine of course on top of the one you me tinned but my drummers never wanted to spend the time and the cash to do all the secrets to me and at that time, I didn't have alla the stuff I have now. So, now, I do it almost all on (keys), even the flaps, progress on a deumbkx and triggering samples... But now,I have to find drummers that could play in a click rolling a Drumbox!!!!

This is. My pearl masters bcx in trans red my dream kit .it took me a while to find this setup used in this color and all rack toms no scratches.i don't have the paiste 2002's yet but I will get there

Playing with the big band at an antique car museum today. I had to borrow a Hawaiian shirt from my daughter. 😂 Fun times. Thankfully I brought some carpet pads or I would have been chasing the hi hat and bass drum across that slick floor. I should get a proper drum rug.
