Let's see your POV/ Driver's seat pics

How do you like the Yamaha lite weight stands?
My back loves them! They’re great. The cymbal stands and hi hat are my favorites. I increased the tension on the hh a bit using info from another post here.

I like the snare stand the least, but only because I use a very heavy stand in my practice room so the Crosstown feels less stable. It does not move. It’s just a weight/feel thing.

The only other “downside” is the need to pack them up in the individual (provided) bags. I’m used to throwing around hardware. I need to be more gentle with these, but just for the sake of looks. Aluminum marks up easier than steel so I assume they would look bad if not protected from each other in the bag. Maybe not, but I don’t want to undertake that experiment.

Other than that, two thumbs up. I’ll probably never lug around steel again. If they only made a throne!!

This is my home set up for solo rehearsal and demo recordings so I can leave my gig kit packed and my practice kit at the band practice spot. I still prefer my acoustic drums of course but this kit is great, especially for the price I got it for. It's nice being able to play drums at 7am on a Sunday or during the afternoon if my wife is taking a nap.

I've noticed in a few of your pics you have your hi hats very low, do you play more open handed?
I used to then I just left them that way; I don't "edge-stick" the hi hiats. Since I was 17! :)

So Tips on top works for me.
my 'gig' hihat stand stands, maybe 1/2" higher)..

loop it RonC (like that name "cadillac")
short clip/me

Cool, nice playing! That makes sense now. I too play more tip and have been over time slowly lowering my hi hats. Cheers
