Turn It Up & Lay It Down (Volume 7) is a play-along CD that focuses on playing in a hard rock style in odd meters (3, 5, 7, 9, 13). The 13 tracks (without drums) contain heavy bass lines and distorted guitar melodies in tempos ranging from 120–196 bpm. An occasional vocal overdub provides counting cues to assist users who may have lost their place. No suggested patterns or grooves are provided, so drummers are free to create their own drum part to each track.
