Rebrushed and remastered!!
Upon its release more than three decades ago, Exile on Main Street innovatively wove varying musical genres, instruments and even artists into a compelling rhythmic masterpiece. This new compilation features 10 tracks originally recorded during the Exile era and only recently discovered while working on the reissue project. Alternate versions of "Soul Survivor" and "Loving Cup" also are a part of the Exile bonus materials.
Originally released in 1959, Miles Davis's magnum opus Kind of Blue is still considered by many to be one of the greatest albums of all time. Starring Davis, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb, Kind of Blue has held onto its status as an album that crosses genres, speaks to generations, and is one of the first (if not the first) album that any new jazz acolyte purchases. Kind of Blue (Legacy Edition) offers the complete studio sessions on 2 CDs, including false starts, alternate takes and a 17-minute 1960 live version of "So What."
The short-lived classic-rock supergroup Blind Faith's sole album has aged remarkably well. In 1969, Blind Faith fused the psychedelic blues of Eric Clapton and the soulful vocals and keyboards of Steve Winwood with the polyrhythmic, Afrocentric leanings of drummer Ginger Baker. The record has a lot of surprises; "Presence of the Lord" is rousing and melancholy at the same time.
Groove Alchemy runs the gamut of emotions - from the upbeat and festive to the broken-hearted and even spooky. It's a cache of precious material that results from the mating of traditional and timeless elements with new and fresh musical ideas.
Like A Fire features songs written specifically for the GRAMMY®-winning King of Rock 'n' Soul by an all-star group of songwriters, including Eric Clapton. Eric Clapton wrote the title track and co-wrote "Thank You" with Solomon. Like A Fire was produced by Steve Jordan.
Two time Grammy nominee Dafnis Prieto continues to articulate his singular vision as a bandleader, drummer and composer with his newest album, recorded live at New York's Jazz Standard last March. Comprised by the nucleus of the sextet that Prieto has been leading over the past two years, his Si o Si (Yes or Yes) Quartet features longtime collaborators Manuel Valera on piano, Charles Flores on bass and Peter Apfelbaum on saxophones and percussion.
Daniel Adair (Nickelback): A song from my other band Martone, we did a cover version of Dave Weckl's "Hard Wired" and we feature guitarist Greg Howe in the track.
Gavin and 05Ric's second collaboration - picking up from where "Drop" left off. 10 songs featuring Ric's amazing extended range bass and haunting vocals - along with Gavin's mind bending rhythmic designs and unusual expressions on the drums.
Live at the Fillmore. There is no better Robben Ford disc than this. On this disc Mr. Ford steps back from his hard hitting blues side and gives us a btter look into his Jazz side.
Referring to Josh Freese as "a drummer" is like calling Jimmy Hendrix "a guitar player". It misses the point entirely. Josh was born a proverbial force of nature.
