I'm a complete novice when it comes to electronics and computers etc.
I want to start recording myself play and upload the videos to YouTube but I have no idea what sort of equipment and software I will need like Mics, mixers, Adobe premier or stuff like that.

Can someone give me a rough idea on what things I will need to record and how to set it up?

And what programs can I use to synchronize a song with the drums and camera?

You'll need a digital video camera and a tripod, obviously, and the easiest way to start recording yourself is to acquire a portable digital recorder such as the Zoom H2. You'll get a good, clear and honest sound quality that way, and it's dead easy to setup and use. Here's an example of a kit recorded with the Zoom H2: http://youtu.be/Qy3TO1Upllo

Use the camera to capture video and the digital recorder to capture sound. Bring the files to your computer afterwards and use any video editing software (NLE or "Non Linear Editor", as the guys in the biz call them) you like to sync the video with the audio. You'll want to mute the original soundtrack of the video, since video cameras usually feature lackluster microphones.

I just use iMovie, and in the case of this video recorded the audio on a separate track then spliced the video, pre-recorded song, and drum track together. Sounds nice and clean. The only tough part is matching up the audio with the video. But it still only took like 10 minutes to put it together.
