After thinking it was hopeless she finally popped up.
Tama 3mm cast copper 14x5.5” with hammered outside of shell. Original heads and hardware. It had been just sitting in a case and now it’s my time to care for this beautiful instrument. Very clean and heavy shell, new-old stock.

Incredible! I remember drooling over that one (and the matching aluminum) when it showed up in the early 2000s catalogs. I love seeing how yours has picked up 20 years of patina. It's beautiful, and I'm sure it sounds amazing!

Well that is great times for you. Awesome. It is very satisfying when one obtains what they seek. Good shnit! 😁👍

That is cool as grits! How old is it and where in the world did you find NOS in a case?

Congrats on the nice score! I had always wanted a hammered copper snare.

On a side note, it seems an odd choice for them to put a claw hammer in the "Hand Hammered" stamp.

Wow, I didn't even know something like that existed. I have the Star Reserve Copper and it's one of my favorite snares, but with my simultaneous love for my bell brass drums, I'm really curious how this cast copper drum sounds...

What are the odds?
I found the 3mm Aluminum shell as well.
Now the 2 are together.
Random but I’ll take it.

I got one of those copper snares back in 04-05, and it was my go to snare for years, only to be changed out for my Spaun bell brass (same dimensions 5.5x14) when I joined my current band and needed more highs/cut.from my snare. Tuned the same, the copper is warmer than the bell brass.
