Let's see your "dream" drum kits

Brand or Wood type doesn't really matter to me; or should I say, it's not a high priority; sizes DO matter.

8" x 10"
10" x 12"
11" x 13"
12" x 14"
16" x 16" FT
16" x 18" FT
6½ x 14" Snare
16" or 15" x 22" Bass

I haven't played drums long enough to really know what the crucial qualities needed are. I recognize from longer experience on other instruments that there are certain little subtleties that allow some instruments to have clarity in ensemble without needing extra volume. It's difficult to discern on drums since extra volume is so readily available.

I just had a thought- maybe on drums it is opposite? That great drums can get super loud without completely burrying everything else?

That purple sparkle Fibes kit with the 16" bass drum that someone (I don't remember who) posted on here a long time ago.

Not a bad way of looking at it, I've found that (in the hands of a skilled player of course) a higher quality drum is capable of not only a wider tonal range but also extremes of volume on both the higher and lower end are more easily coaxed with less effort.

It was the the instruments that could do "quieter" better. Those that could speak fully/richly at low volume.

I found my dream drums in the year that the world all but shut down: 2020. Three sets of NOS Ludwig Aged Exotics. Definitely extravagant for me, but I had a bunch of gig money saved and nothing else to do at the time. I wouldn't likely do it again, but I don't regret it one bit. Amazing sounding drums, all with matching interiors.

How did you like that kick drum muffling system? How was it better/worse than anything else?
I have one. It's good, the best part is it stays put when you move the drum, it's cut right to size so it stays sandwiched. I get why people complaun about the price, it does seem like a lot for what you actually get.

It's quite a muffled sound tho, for me. I prefer a little less. Just a towl or thin airplane blanket. Or an Evans EQ pad. I'm not disappointed I bought one, but probably wouldn't do it again, not becuase it's not good, it's just too dead for me..

Actually wouldn't mind trying a 15" X 23" Bass Drum. (I don't even know if a thing exists)

Some beautiful kits on this thread!. My dream kit?..its (maybe) a dream kit except for the power sizes. It's a black Sonor phonic kit on eBay for 1495?. It will be a night of celebrating something and I see myself feeling buyers remorse due to the tom sizes. BUT on YouTube I've headphoned power size phonics and was like oh ya. So...maybe.

I already have mine: a Japanese Yamaha Recording Custom shell bank in Antique Sunburst.

If I'm allowed a second dream kit (future tense) it would be a Noble & Cooley Horizon in Blackwash Gloss finish and chrome hardware (24/13/15/18).
Similar to stock image pictured below:

I also already own my dream kit, here's some older images:

Here's a newer wide angle one:

DW Collectors SSC Maple Ebony Satin Oil: 24x18 | 12x8 | 13x9 | 16x16 | 18x16
Sonor Artist Series CM 1406 14x6 Curly Maple
Paiste 2002: 16" Thin Crash | 18" Thin Crash | 10" Splash
Paiste Modern Essentials Formula 602 15" HiHat
Paiste Twenty Custom 22" Full Ride

Don't need anything else, maybe a second snare some day (Tama Starphonic Copper) for some more low end.
