Free Educational Resources - Websites, Blogs, Youtube

I'm actually in the process of releasing an educational drum app for practicing and recording rudiments on the go. The app is called PocketChops and it currently has over 200 practice rudiments in 4/4, as well as 15 custom presets for creating and saving your own rudiments in 3/4, 4/4, and 5/4. It also has a metronome (for business), a hit counter (for fun), and a toggle setting which triggers slight vibrations on pad strikes (for immersion). The app is currently in its free public beta testing phase for iOS, and I thought this would be a great place to share it with you all! I'll create a designated thread with more details for feedback and Q&A, but for now I'll leave the public link below.

PocketChops - Public Beta (iOS TestFlight)

PS the app is meant to be played with thumbs or fingers, maybe even toes... just please don't hit your device with drumsticks!

Dude, shake my hand man... Just shake my hand now...

Blast beats for beginners:

Gravity blast:
For some reason, when you play the drums, you have to have the proper rhythmic structure. Sometimes it's hard to count drum notes; you have to make the correct calculations. I mostly use the math problem solver service for that purpose - https://edubirdie.com/math-problem-solver and I am usually satisfied by the fact that I don't need to make it by myself. So don't forget to prepare yourself BEFORE the play/jam. Preparation is worth the time spent.

and
Heel/toe:
Thank you!

I've been having a difficult time finding a quality set of flashcards for studying drum notation so I just created a set of Drum Notation Flashcards on Quizlet. I believe it is complete. Let me know what, if anything, needs to be added.

Comments and constructive criticisms are welcome.

Do you plan to work on the Android version too shortly?

Hey drummers. My site DrumsTheWord.com has 100s of free drum lessons teaching you full songs, famous drum beats, fills and even drum solos. Each lesson also comes with free PDF drum notation. I would very much appreciate being added to this list. Thanks for your consideration! Rob
