Ooohh Tim Alexander, nice. I was never a fan of Primus themselves, but he is a wicked drummer.

In no order: (other than Vinnie being at the top haha)

1. Vinnie Colauita
Dave Weckl
Ari Hoenig
Joe Morello
Buddy Rich
Mark Guiliana
Stanton Moore
Keith Carlock
Carter McClean
Adam Deitch

Stewart Copeland, Bill Stewart, Carter Beauford, Matt Chamberlain, Shawn Pelton and Brian Blade should be on there too - but there's only room for 10 per OP ;)

Oh and 17 year old me would like to add: Jimmy Chamberlin and Matt Cameron.

Ok I need to step away haha.

Limiting my list to drummers that I've seen play live in the last 5 tears, my top twelve:

1. Jeff Hamilton (soloing with the Columbus Jazz Orchestra)
2. Steve Gadd (with James Taylor at Wrigley Field)
3. Dave Garibaldi (TOP)
4. Michael Jerome (Better Than Ezra)
5. Charlie Watts (Stones, at the 'shoe)
6. Jason Carpenter (Edgar Winter Band)
7. Glen Sobel (Alice Cooper)
8. Jay Schellen (Yes)
9. Joey Waronker (Roger Waters)
10. Max Weinberg
11. Chris Steele (Ottmar Liebert)
12. Tony Royster, Jr. (Katy Perry)

Hon. Mention: Gary Lewis (the musician who got me interested in drumming and the very last person whose hand I shook before the onslaught of Covid-19).

My fav drummers... There are only five popping to mind. Mike Portnoy, Terry Bozzio, Neil Peart, Todd Sucherman, Benny Greb.
Those 5 are the ones that had/have a huge influence on my playing. There are others, but these 5 i label as my favs.

I think I can only rationalise my 10 "favourite" by listing those who have influenced me to a greater or lesser extent. In no order of importance, & of course, there are many others I admire greatly:

Bob Dalton
Prairie Prince
Ash Soan
Karl Brazil
Todd Sucherman
Nicolas Viccaro
Jeff Porcaro
Simon Phillips
Phil Gould
Benny Greb

I love Todd Sucherman and Simon Philips. Both artist on the drum kit.

I'm not gonna make a list because it's always the same handful of players. I am going to say that Emmanuelle Caplette has made her way on to my list. Everything I see and hear from her is fantastic. Actually, between her drumming and her always cheerful (seeming) attitude, I'm gonna go out on a limb and nominate her for Global Drumming Ambassador. Her being pretty is another bonus.

i hate lists.. but mine is
1: Bill Ward
2: Bill Stevenson
3: Smelly...
4: Me..

I like Prairie Prince a lot. I've seen him 3 times with Rundgren, but I always feel that Todd never gives him room to really cut loose.
Would have loved to have seen Porcaro back in the day . . .

That's funny - I always associate him with Beck.
Yep, Waronker played on Waters' "Us+Them" tour 2017-18. I remember at one point it looked like he was standing on his throne beating a gong drum. I thought, "that guy has great balance!" He had a tech there to spot him, fortunately.
