At my Friday gig, dude comes up to me and says how much he liked my playing. Dudes name was Krupa. Gene's nephew.

Very cool. My cousin Cathy once dated Krupa's nephew, also named Gene. There was some talk about getting me together with his uncle, who was a major influence on me as a kid drummer, but it never happened.

TY. I have a similar one from years ago at a big CA church. Saw this girl in the front row that looked very familiar. She came up and introduced herself. Cathy Rich, Buddy's daughter. (I recognized her because she MC'd a Buddy Rich Memorial tape I had). Glad I didn't put it together till after I played or I might have choked.

Nope. Although my last instructor did and I have HUGE respect for drummers who do that. People call me a "jazz drummer", despite the fact that I play zero jazz. Cathy saw me with a worship band, the nephew saw me with a 7-piece "horn rock" band. (Chicago/etc)
