What's your latest purchase?

One of the last pieces in a multi-player trade with my local shop came in today. 602 18” Thin Flat Ride. Simply an exquisite cymbal - probably the “prettiest” sounding cymbal I can recall owning. This one gets jumped into the music almost immediately, with a country club gig in L.A. Friday evening followed by a fancy private event in Bakersfield on Saturday. Blood in, blood out!

I’m still waiting on the final player of the trade - 602 14” Medium Hi Hats. My 602 15” Sound Edges are my favorite instrument, drum or cymbal, that I currently own, but they’re a little beefy for the quietest venues/gigs I play. Gone in this trade are the last of my Giant Beats. Loved those cymbals and they served me well for years, but once I dove in the Vanilla Sea of 602s, I was hooked! :ROFLMAO: 🤪

6x13 Ludwig Supralite with Roadrunner bag; first 13" I've had in a while. Previously I had a Pearl brass piccolo that was 1-dimensional but it was a pretty great one that ultimately I never found a fit for it, a 5x13 maple Groove Percussion that sounded great after changing heads & snare wires, but after having returned to a 14, traded it for a 5x10 Mapex steel aux with a tom mount bracket, and a 1st gen Tama Stagestar 6-lug steel 5x13. I'm not into steel snare drums but I fell into a deal on this. Gonna give it a run at rehearsal tonight. If I'm not impressed, it'll be going up for sale, bag and stickers included (Starburst was delicious).
 
Just got my Audix D-vice in today. I’ve been running an e604 on my floor tom but wanted to get my D4 back out in the mix. I feel like the D4 has a bit more focus and low end emphasis compared to the e604 (could easily be my imagination). My duo guy runs the board at our gigs and isn’t really tuned into the intricacies of what I’m looking for in a floor tom sound, so I figure I’ll make it a little easier for him by using the D4.

Nothing beats new drumkit day 🤩. Tama Starclassic Performer in Molten Steel Blue Burst (more greenish to me, but still looking great), 2x 22x16, 10x8, 12x9, 13x10, 16x14. Some new reso Ambassador heads as well. Looking forward to getting the kids to bed, so I can start assembling 😅.

One must admit, fully finished bassdrum hoops makes quite a difference in appearance (these are the Gibraltar ones). Now I'm only missing the Starclassic bassdrum spurs (sometime in the future I guess) and I have officially "hacked" the system 😅.

Changed to Pinstripe on the floortom, plan to do the rest of the kit as well, just getting a bit late here...

yeah...those are pretty sweet...and definitely green!!!!
 
Yeah, no worries though, I was prepared for that seeing all recent pictures of this finish have been more green than blue. I think they switched it sometime after being more of a blue finish in the beginning. Just a bit weird they still call them Molten Steel Blue Burst... I'm just happy all of my drums are the same though, green is fine with me 😁.
