What is your “old relable” snare drum ?

This one. 5.5x14 Hovland Walnut tree trunk with aluminum tuning chassis and lugs. It covers all the bases. I have a few great snares in my arsenal but this one beats them all.

Another vote for the Acrolite. Wide variety of sounds living in those drums. Stupid easy to dial in a good sound.

I only have two snares. both Mapex. I like both of them, but I like this one better. It is an Armory Sabre. Peace and goodwill.

The 13x7 Yamaha gets rotated with this 13x6 baby btw. A bit more cut when needed.

Ludwig and Ludwig Standard from late 30s or early 40s. I’d post a pic but I’m sure everyone is sick of looking at it and I don’t have a pic of it on the phone.

My first snare, a Ludwig Supraphonic 400; pitted chrome, beat up, but still in one piece. I haven't gigged it in years. I really should trick it out with new heads and snare wires and see how it sounds on a gig.
