Boston - More Than A Feeling

I'm in a classic rock mood, previously to this was Journey, ol' Steve Smith.

What are you listening to?

I have been listening to old Bee Gee's, ABBA and stuff like that for some reason.
Van Halen 2, Rainbow, Scorpions Tokyo Tapes, Steely Dan....
I also like this old Herb Alpert "Taste Of Honey" album I have.
I popped in some Laurie Anderson a couple days ago too.

Damien Rice..Insane..(just the version referenced below)

thats some mighty intersting rhythm work on that guitar...rivaling some of the most interesting drumming I have heard.

also...

Katatonia...Soils Song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRVKqRQtzD4&feature=related

listen for the china cymbal exchange within the pattern.

lastly...

Porcupine Tree...Half Light
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRjZ_3ZLL_I

subtle, tasteful and deceptivly difficult.

Just rediscovered Pantera's Great Southern Trendkill. One of their most underrated albums, it still amazes me the amount of musicianship on this album. RIP Dime. You are missed. Watch It Go!

My privacy isn't worth invading, but anyway.....

I have 100 hours of a nice 1950-present mix on my computer. Now playing is Coldplay's "Yes" from the album "Viva La Vida".

Bit I wish it was Abba (Karl!) ... "Gimme Gimme Gimme"...

Today, I listened to John Coltrane's "Om" album. A total trip. Beyond description. A totally subjective listening experience. Also listened to Elvis Costello's "Armed Forces", Cheap Trick's "Special One" and Stooges' "Fun House."

Peace,

MT

This question is an invasion of my privacy
I didn't think you'd object since you've never told me to stop watching you sleep.

I see a couple King Crimson mentions, I'm lucky to have Gavin Harrison do a clinic here in September, can't freakin' wait.

I never seem to be ACTUALLY listening to anything when I come across this thread... but on my current rotation is:
Mars Volta - The Bedlam in Goliath
Psycroptic - Scepter of the ancients
Arthur Brown - The Crazy World of Arthur Brown
Cloudkicker - The Discovery

And obsessively listening to demos of myself and my bands that I'm constantly recording, they're never quite good enough, gets me down. But I'll keep at it!

I will give a nod to King Crimson too, only recently discovered them,,, really dig. gotta chuck some more of that back up on my mp3 player.
