Show Off your SONOR DRUMS.

Indeed ;)

Im in the talks to get part of the PHX back we used as a demo.

Back then it had to go back in storage (or I could buy it, but didn’t had the money).

After this sale I have some better money to start with.

The DW was sold because I needed a matching kick and I had already close to 7k in it so paying again 2,5k (yes they are much more expensive here) I though it was better to get the Sonor.

Unfortunately it wasn’t what I love at all when I got it home. It happens.

At the end they are all great drums at a certain price range. Its just what you feel with a kit and how it works.

Ps. Dont be suprised if you see a “regular” MCA in the meanwhile, as the PHX won’t arrive before the end of 2022/early 2023. This because they have a large delay in already placed orders because of the pandemic and the switch to a new Ash supplier.
Thanks for sending the link. It's out of my price range though, which is stupid of me, because you're selling them for exactly what they're worth. Gorgeous kit. Good luck with the sale.

I have Sonor Vintage set In black slate. It’s 20” bass, 10,12 & 14” toms and 14” snare. I absolutely love this set!! This is the only new set I ever purchased and will probably be my last. I also have a small Sonor Safari kit. I purchased this kit used and couldn’t believe how good they sounded which made me purchase that new Vintage kit!!

Really digging all these beautiful kits in here. I've always been impressed with Sonor drums, but never actually owned any. Closest I came was this old Force kit that belonged to a former bandmate. I used it for gigs and rehearsals and it was perfect for that.

Those aq2 kit is a great kit I don't think there is much difference to a higher end sq2 kit not in my ears it's all in the mind because there much expensive that means nothing to me.

I'm always glad when this thread pops up. Befor my Renowns id been gigging a cheap blue sparkle 3007? Kit. I search weekly for single Sonor phonic drums mismatched or not to piece together a kit. 18x22 plus series..8x12..14 and 16 floors. I'm relentless with this search. It (will) happen. In the mean time I just look at this thread for inspiration..and a tiny bit of torture. 😃

Man Sonor Phonic are great drums I had a 5 piece kit in the gold color I had to sell them for certain reason I wish I still had them.

I now just have a Safari as my main kit. Good projection for a compact drums. I have to mike the 16in kick on occasions but thats not an issue and so easy to transport even in drum cases. The pic here shows kit with my Mapex Brass Cat snare but the stock snare has plenty of jam to use for Blues,Country,Classic Rock and Jazz although when cranked
has more of a Piccolo sound. This kit was made in 2013 so it has 6 ply Poplar shells rather than early sets with Basswood so it projects more than the Basswood Player kit I had with the same size snare and toms. The player had a 20 in kick and as I couldn't hear much of a difference between it and the Safari 16in I sold the Player. And you just have to love the great Sonor hardware and wrap. Quality at a great price.

The snaredrum is not new at all (bought it with 18 years), but it now has some very (very, very) nice new ornament:

Very cool! I know ( from the Pearl Drummers Forum) that you have Gavin Harrisons signature inside that shell, as well.
Are there any other (Sonor?) drummers signatures you'd like ?

Havent been on the Pearl forum for ages:unsure:😃
But yes, I got: Billy Cobham, Gavin Harrison, Stewart Copeland, Jojo Mayer and Danny Carey.
I'm still mad at myself for not taking the snare to the Primus show 2015. The first time that
happened when I arrived at the venue was meeting the band right in front of it😖
