Thanks for sending the link. It's out of my price range though, which is stupid of me, because you're selling them for exactly what they're worth. Gorgeous kit. Good luck with the sale.Indeed
Im in the talks to get part of the PHX back we used as a demo.
Back then it had to go back in storage (or I could buy it, but didn’t had the money).
After this sale I have some better money to start with.
The DW was sold because I needed a matching kick and I had already close to 7k in it so paying again 2,5k (yes they are much more expensive here) I though it was better to get the Sonor.
Unfortunately it wasn’t what I love at all when I got it home. It happens.
At the end they are all great drums at a certain price range. Its just what you feel with a kit and how it works.
Ps. Dont be suprised if you see a “regular” MCA in the meanwhile, as the PHX won’t arrive before the end of 2022/early 2023. This because they have a large delay in already placed orders because of the pandemic and the switch to a new Ash supplier.
What sizes are they have the inner shells been stained.?
Man Sonor Phonic are great drums I had a 5 piece kit in the gold color I had to sell them for certain reason I wish I still had them.I'm always glad when this thread pops up. Befor my Renowns id been gigging a cheap blue sparkle 3007? Kit. I search weekly for single Sonor phonic drums mismatched or not to piece together a kit. 18x22 plus series..8x12..14 and 16 floors. I'm relentless with this search. It (will) happen. In the mean time I just look at this thread for inspiration..and a tiny bit of torture.
I now just have a Safari as my main kit. Good projection for a compact drums. I have to mike the 16in kick on occasions but thats not an issue and so easy to transport even in drum cases. The pic here shows kit with my Mapex Brass Cat snare but the stock snare has plenty of jam to use for Blues,Country,Classic Rock and Jazz although when crankedI have Sonor Vintage set In black slate. It’s 20” bass, 10,12 & 14” toms and 14” snare. I absolutely love this set!! This is the only new set I ever purchased and will probably be my last. I also have a small Sonor Safari kit. I purchased this kit used and couldn’t believe how good they sounded which made me purchase that new Vintage kit!!
Are those two front-facing lugs on the rack tom not lined up with each other?
Very cool! I know ( from the Pearl Drummers Forum) that you have Gavin Harrisons signature inside that shell, as well. The snaredrum is not new at all (bought it with 18 years), but it now has some very (very, very) nice new ornament:
You can't even get Prolites in the US anymore. Just old stock or used. Definitely not in that finish.
This is so cool! (pic from the Pearl Drummers forum)Havent been on the Pearl forum for ages
But yes, I got: Billy Cobham, Gavin Harrison, Stewart Copeland, Jojo Mayer and Danny Carey.
I'm still mad at myself for not taking the snare to the Primus show 2015. The first time that
happened when I arrived at the venue was meeting the band right in front of it
