Did a rundown of what I used on the mid-west run with Pretty Boy Floyd. For this particular tour I was using backline provided by the support band, not my own kit. Thought it might be fun to show people what it's like when you can't have your babies with you.

Drums: Ludwig Vistalites
24x14
14x10
16x16
14x7 Yamaha Brass Nouveau

Cymbals: Paiste Colorsound 900
14" Sound Edge Hats
19 Crash x2
22" Power Ride
18" China

Nice tour..you seem comfortable in front of a camera. Your walk around really took me back to days on the road hanging with band members getting the kit all placed and ready for action with the minutes ticking and lite butterflies in the digestive system. Rock hard bro..were in your corner. 🎶

Since you usually use two floor toms and find the reach from the 14 rack to 16 floor tom too far why not set up the 14 and 16 next to each other to your right and skip the rack tom positioning?

Anyway, still a cool kit and thank you for sharing! These "behind the scenes" videos are always super interesting.

Not having a rack would totally throw me off. Like having to relearn how to play these songs. Plus that 14 is on a Snare Stand, and doesn't have a tom mount, so there's no way to get it low enough for me to play like a floor.

Hey Nick, the makeup pad seems like a good idea. How much extra sustain does it take out? I have a floor that goes like 15 seconds, and I’ve got cotton balls in it that bring it down to about 5 before it stops. I imagine you can’t cut that much sustain with just one pad…or can you?

And I hear you about that rack tom. That’s way far away. Yet, I see so many drummers doing it, and I don’t know how they can.

The odds of a Nick Mason playing in a band with Floyd in the name are astronomical, but more than one. Looks like a fun gig. Kill it.
