Gretsch 5pc. Renown Maple Kit Just Fell Into My Lap

Circa 1995. Odd Bebop Kit. Excellent Condition. I paid $260.00 USD for the kit. A steal, as every used kit except for entry level, is very expensive here in Canada.

Renown Configuration With RN1 Circular Mounts

Kick - 20in.
Rack - 9 in.
Rack 2 - 11in.
Floating Floor Tom - 14in.
Snare - 5 x14 in.

My question: What Batter Head would you employ, with Reso, ? Renown Snare.

I am a soft hitter in regard to overall bashing. I play SteelyDan, Toto, Boz Scaggs, types of music.

No Metal, and no music where I would ever break, or crack a cymbal. Thanks in advance !!!

Rack tom 9in?.Rack2 11in?.

the toms could be 10 in, and 12 in. Any takers on the snare replacement heads
You can never go wrong with the Ambassador Coated batter, and Ambassador snare side.

Or if you like Evans, the G1 Coated batter, and Clear 300 Snare Side.

I'm also a big fan of the Evans Genera Dry batter. It feels just like a G1, but without the need to use muffling.

Let’s see the pics. I believe Renowns were released around 2000 with triple flanged hoops before they move to die-cast shortly thereafter.

i would go for the aquarian classic clear snare side reso head, and the texture coated power dot batter head :) for the stuff youre playing, that combo would work lovely :)

That's gotta be like an 8, 10, 14 kit.

Remo coated over Remo clear will be perfect for that kit. That's an amazing price! I love Renowns.

I only like coated Ambs on snares because they’re a blank slate that you can do anything with, from totally open sturm und drang to muffled thud.

This is the exact kit. Everything in EX condition. Came with a heavy duty Snare stand, and a Gibralter Double bass pedal. Super Heavy Gretsch hardware.

The only thing which may be missing is the Tom stand for the 14in. Floor Tom, but the heavy mount is on the drum.

Cost - $350.00 CAD Cash. That is $275.00 USD on FB Marketplace.
I bought it 30 minutes after listed. In one hour after listing it would have been sold.

Photos to follow once I give it a Buggy Bath, and detail it out.
Many thanks to all that imparted their advice.

Cheers!
