I loved Ralph Humphrey. The first album I heard by FZ was Overnight Sensation and became a crazed Zappa fan ever since. I thought Ralph was overshadowed by Colaiuta and Bozzio but his playing is unique and he grooved like nobody’s business. I was very disheartened to hear of his passing earlier this year.

I had forgotten how difficult the Be Bop Tango was.
I love his work on Roxy and Elsewhere.

All that is way beyond my pay grade.

Ralph and Chester played on my favourite Zappa albums. I especially loved his work on the Yellow Snow suite.
