To me fast is not best but for death metal it seem so since the only fun of it is to trash so being fast gives more trash, lol. Anyway Flo Mounier is from Quebec and I'm too. Last year he was at an expo for the jazz fest in Montreal. And he came to try the new roland electro drum demo. He played fast double pedal non stop as he's good at. But anybody can play like that. You could be totally on durgs and drunk and play like that. You just have to practise and you got for it. It,s easy to get fast. But to play well with a band, being technic and have the perfect matching play is another thing and that to me is mature drummer. But we still need those speed freaks to play in those over technical detroy band. And those guys are good and tight very impressive. But personnaly I would just watch a clip, being impressed and walk away and go listen to Define The great Line over and over and forget about how fast flo mounier play because men that Aaron Gillespie knows how to play well and fit a good feal to his music with Underoath. At that same exp of roland I just sat on the bench after Flo kinda roll like he did with a single pedal instead of the double, of course I couldn't go fast as long and non stop as him, he's pro and he's the fastest, but you know people around didn't quite see a difference. There are solo drummers and and there's musician drummer. I would rather chose Aaron as best musician and drummer to me personnaly than Flo mounier who's the fastest, that's all.

I think Nicko McBrain is real good, he doesn't use double bass. Dave Lombardo has my vote though

Joey Jordison is easily the most overrated metal drummer of all time. :|

That said, it's cool if you like him, just don't go saying he's the "best".

I've always been more of a prog rock fan (ELP, Yes etc) so I didn't listen to much metal or thrash until a buddy of mine introduced me to Slayer. Dave really impressed me with his speed and power, but it wasn't till I heard his work in Grip, Inc. that Dave really really blew me away. No one else (IMHO) can touch him.
