Show off your Ludwigs? : )

To EllenVannin - loving the new club dates from GC. Can you elaborate a bit as to how you think they sound, play? I'm/we're curious. Thanks!

I envy you all. All the kits are great. Here in Mexico there's only one music store that sells Ludwig Drums: Veerkamp. But the prices are too expensive for me U.U
But one day I'll have my own Ludwig :p

I'm still missing the additional 22" x 16" bass drum which will be ordered soon. And no, I've never gigged with all seven pieces at the same time, it's usually just five. This just gives me a matching shell pack from which I can pick and choose to match any specific venue. It works out really well and after five, ten or twenty years when the finishes start to age, all the shells should still match one another.

I'm now using Evans G1 coated over G1 clear heads on the toms.

This is fun for me, because I took an almost identical approach with my WMP Classic Maples. I have two kicks, 14x18 and 22x16, 14x14 and 16x16 floor toms and 9x13 and 8x12 rack toms. And I only play four drums at a time, so I've never actually set up all of them at once. Thanks for the picture so I now know exactly how mine would look!

My new 72 Ludwig 3 plys in original Blue silk wrap. Well they're new to me (great ebay find). Bought them as a complete Pro Beat set around Christmas last year. I just moved and finally got to set them up in my new drum room.

finally got rid of the DW Classic Series Kit...Went with the Ludwig Classic Maples. Here is what they look like. They sound great, and I think they look sharp.

You're absolutely right about that! Looks like a tremendously fun kit to play and I'll bet it sounds top-notch! Nice, Roy!

Here's my vintage 6x13 3-ply maple snare. It's got 11 strand wires on it right now. From the serial number and the guide on the Ludwig site I believe it's from the late 60's. The serial number is 3311735. If any Ludwig experts could help me out with the date that would be fantastic.

Sorry to tell you , but this snare would be from earliest 1981 when they moved to Monroe South Carolina. Didn't mean to burst your balloon. You may also want to check the number of plies again it is probably a 6 ply shell.
