What's your latest purchase?

I've got some new gear so far this year (and I have the feeling there'll be more).

Pearl 8 lug Chrome snare
Promark 5A Sticks
Fender Bassman 20
Fender PA 135
Dunlop Kirk Hammett Wah
EH Metal Muff

Bummer

Some Evans tone rings. It sucks that they don't include a 16" but my Remo set covered that.

I think I prefer clear over white.

Put off ordering sticks for 2 weeks (had 3 left and my memory is shit.. kept forgetting til i sat down at the kit) Ended up going online friday to order them.. ended up ordering a full set of batter and reso heads.. forgot the damn sticks. WTF?! (btw.. love sam ash.. stuff in stock and cheaper than MF)

Ended up using a pair of 2b's i have laying around. my god.. they are like baseball bats.. i coulnd't feel anything and tiny hits sounded like i took full swings with a hammer.. i don't know how people use them.

P.S. switching my toms from coated 2 plys to classic clears (1 ply clear) can't wait to see how they sound :)

Oh my, black walnut? Just lovely. Congratulations!

spleeeeen--awesome segmented Guru Walnut snare! Absolutely gorgeous. Congrats!

I just acquired this Noble & Cooley Walnut SS Classic 7" X 14" snare.
I had a Noble & Cooley Maple snare in this size in the 90's that I had
to let go and I always regretted that decision.

The backstory is that Nick Jones at Noble & Cooley called dibs on this
Walnut blank to build a personal snare. On their first run of SS Walnut
snares they ran one blank short of completing an order for a vendor so
Nick donated his blank to the cause and this is that snare: #24 of 24
of the first Walnut run.

It has more of a red hue but still has that dark Walnut coloration that
transitions to white around the lower bearing edge and the kerf joint.

Ludwig P35 butt plate to replace the huge P33 version on my LB552 Bronze Supraphonic.
I also removed the lug gaskets, resulting in some splay. I can live with that as the drum now resonates like a Supraphonic should.

I had to resort to finance to re-equip myself, but resisted having to remortgage to house for the cymbals.

These will be getting their first outing on Thursday to go with the ebay bargain Yamaha Rydeen kit I got a couple of weeks ago. The Planet Z hihat and crash ride lasted 1 practice, which is longer than I thought they would. They'll do for the kids in a couple of years though.

Today I bought the following at Scott's Drum Center in Lafayette, Louisiana:

Sabian 16" AA Xplosion Crash
Gibraltar clamp with cymbal arm
1 pair of LA Backbeat 5B drumsticks

Peace and goodwill.
