Hope they sell the individual parts too, I'd love to get just the kick pad and keep using my Black Holes for the rest (the kick drum Black Hole is a POS, I've resorted to just pulling out the mesh head and putting it on a spare kick, but now I need that kick for other uses)

My humor has been lost in translation. My apologies. I mentioned “AAD” because it’s a marketing point for that Tama training kit, and it’s weird (to me).

Wow, ok, those are very different. lol Not sure I could use them as my main hats (I'm mainly a jazzer), but, as a secondary? Absolutely.

Hey, BTW, what brand mics are you using? I'm building a kit and trying to get as many ideas as I can. I bought these on a whim. Haven't used them yet because I've yet to get a mixer. They were inexpensive, so, if i don't like them, oh well.

At first the PSTX cymbals are very loud compared to solid cymbals, but I love the sandy, dissonant sound.


Those mics will get you up and running and give you the opportunity to learn about placement, gain, eq, etc. The room where the drums are played is the most important factor when recording drums, IMO.
