a National Fest ("The apple fest") with one of the contestants of our "American Idol". By the time that we played there were around 30000 people in the Arena. The closing act played for 100000 people crowd. It was very intense

Is that in weyside festival by any chance?
And iv played a gig up in hereford in the jailhouse:) its a nice venue.
Hey, were you from? No, not the Wyeside festival. That bombed this year with the Stranglers headlining. We've not played the jailhouse either, not really our scene. Just did the Barrels beer festival last weekend. Apart from a scheduling cockup (we ended up playing as the doors opened, to the next band's crowd), it was a great gig. Check out my drumcam video from that gig in this section!

Yeah i was watching that the other, its good stuff :).

Im from wales, Penarth its a town by Cardiff. The guitarist in my band knows a promoter there. Its a good venue but that gig was terrible. We were put down as headliners even though we don't have a fan base there at all so the turn out was very poor, ah well it was still a fun night :)

A view from the stage at one of the biggest places I play these days, Big Al's. Holds 500 people in winter, in summer they open it up and about 1000 people come out.

The other pic is U of M stadium, from many years ago! I have no idea how many people that one holds!

Venue size for me varies wildly, I may play a club with 10 people in it (including the band, bartender, waitress, cook, and doorman!) then play for 10,000 the next week with Al. Probably our biggest venue and audience was at Joe Robbie Stadium, Miami, at Hurricane Relief in 1992. A pretty cool line-up, organized by Gloria Estefan, who also perfromed. Julio Iglesias, CS&N, Asia, Bee Gees, Jimmy Buffett, Jon Secada, Paul Simon, and more, plus various comedians to fill-in during set changes: Whoopi Goldberg, Sinbad, Michael Winslow, I think Bobcat Goldthwait, and more. We went on pretty late in the evening, about 1:30am, and a lot of the audience had taken off by then. But there were probably 35,000 remaining.

With Al, venues range from theaters to sheds to arenas to grandstands at the fair, with the audience sizes ranging anywhere from 1,000 to 15,000, I'd say mostly in the 2,500-5,000 range.

Our largest regular venue is the grandstand at the Minnesota State Fair, capacity: 15,000. Here's a pic of about half of it.

I had the great opportunity to play at the Bronson Centre a bit before Christmas with my school's jazz band. I don't have any pictures of us playing, but here's a picture of the Centre. Imagine this, minus the lighting and with a few sixteen year olds attempting to play jazz.
