New Drum Set

I am curious- has anyone bought a new set to just use at home, play and admire it's beauty with no intention of ever letting that baby see real world?
 
Nope, all my kits over the years earned their keep. I have three kits currently and they all share the work load.
 
I bought my last kit for more or less a practice set that stays in the house, so far that is.

I did the opposite: Bought a cheaper kit to drag around, so that the nice drums can live a pampered life at home.

I did. I play for me and have a gorgeous set of Renowns and sometimes I just sit back and admire. After dusting that is. 8+)
 
I also have 3 kits and they have all seen stage and studio alike.... I do pick and choose though depending on the gig - depending on where it is - the '68 Ludwigs may stay at home.
 
Nobody rides for free.............yet!
 
I purchased a new kit this year and play at home everyday for 3-4 hrs just for fun. Throw on the headphones, turn on the iPod, and get to it!

I have no plans on gigging anymore, though i do miss it sometimes.
