I thought the drum nerds like me might find this lesson that Louie Bellson takes from his old teacher , drum technique instructor , Murray Spivack. Mr. Spivack taught some of the most influential drummers in the Los Angeles area for a few decades. Unfortunately this video project never was completed as intended, because Murray Spivack passed away while the video was still in production. While he is quite frail and mixes up some terminology such as “ French Grip” and “Traditional Grip”, this video provides a glimpse into the teaching of a major pedagogue of our instrument.
