Ambassador clear are pretty awesome. To me the clear are a bit more soft feeling and scooped sounding than coated. I wanted to like Emperors but too much attack and no girth the way I tune and play.

I have a clear Amb I could try on the rack. It would have a coated reso but I may try it later when I can make noise.

Update: Throwing a window clingy on the toms made the toms and kick sound more smacky. So if I need that sound, it beats changing heads or buying more drums.
