Found the secret to cleaning cymbals

I'm on board with this imperative. My Zildjian A Avedis cymbals have a factory-applied patina finish that isn't designed for cleaning. I plan to let corrosion run its course.

There's debate over the impact of patina. Some say it's only visual, while others claim it has sound-altering properties. Paul Francis, Director of Cymbal Innovation at Zildjian, imparts that patina gives cymbals a warmer, more controlled voice. I'll take his word for it.
