Badminton strings as snare wires

I tried it on my Trowa to emulate vintage marching or concert gut wires. It's a chore to align threads and equalise the tension, unless you have the old-style throwoff with multiple holes.
It's a quiet wire sound, quite forgiving to tension changes, and allows the drum to have an even fatter fundamental note. Personally I still prefer coiled wires for sensitivity, or maybe I could try thicker, tennis racquet strings for more "snap".
