Anybody own or heard or have tried Varus drums? I have to admit the finish on the drums look great but just curious how it sounds

Italian drum maker living in Spain. I have a buddy who has a 4-piece set of those & I got to rock them for an afternoon.
His craftsmanship is exquisite, but you'll pay for that quality. If memory serves, all kits are stave built & by order only. Import charges are part of the deal.
They're very resonant & the build quality is very sturdy. I could see these being a very road worthy kit for a touring drummer the same as any other would be. Like GruntersDad said, the sound samples are EQ'd, so what you hear on their site might be by design.
The fit & finish are what separates his build from the others. He doesn't use wrap of any kind & the look of his drums are amazing. The very definition of boutique.

wish i knew, they look amazing though, and as others have said, you'll pay for the quality, but from the looks of them, its worth it

I follow them on Facebook, and their stuff looks incredible.... never tried them, though.
