I had a thin that was blue, it lasted three years before it developed a crack so I thought I'd try out a medium....in white.

Love my Starclassics! Enjoy!Nothing beats new drumkit day. Tama Starclassic Performer in Molten Steel Blue Burst (more greenish to me, but still looking great), 2x 22x16, 10x8, 12x9, 13x10, 16x14. Some new reso Ambassador heads as well. Looking forward to getting the kids to bed, so I can start assembling

first the bass guitar, then the double bass pedal, then the cymbal, and now this!
I saw this at my local guitar center and couldn't resist such a good deal.
Total came out to $122

Went up to Bentley’s today and came home with the big bro to the 18” Thin Flat I picked up a while back. He had the 22” model in stock and it’s every bit as tasty as its little sibling.
As with the 18, the 22 is a delicate, polite, pretty piece that’s a “blend” way more than a “cut” cymbal. The big boy has more presence and spread, with an obviously lower pitch. Always trying to refine and enhance.

Ahead, hybrid 5AB concert sticks arrived today, they feel pretty good even without wrap but I wrapped them anyway with Nexcare absolute waterproof tape. I should have snapped a before picture. I now have 5A 5A Fatbeat 5A Maxx and 5AB Concert. I'll break them in on a gig tonight. However, I'm in Kansas and tornado weather is in the forecast. So we'll see.

@lefty2, that Nexcare tape is the bees knees, isn’t it? After reading about it here on DW (thank you to whoever started that thread!), I took to using it on my Ahead sticks as well. Game changer accessory, for sure.
I’m using 5AB and CrossRoads XRS Ahead models and love ‘em. I swapped out the black shaft covers for the faux wood-colored ones on my 5AB’s. The CrossRoads came stock with them. I like the “wood” look and the wood-colored covers seem to be a bit more durable.

Cool! I've been considering upgrading my older M-Audio Eight Track interface.
It is still functional but a bit noisy and the device driver - although working with Win 11 - is ancient.

Awesome. That thing looks clean as heck. What is this cymbals DOB? (even though it may not be... that cymbal has that "classic" 'Zildjian' VIBE that I like). I can see a laser stamp, so it can't be that old. Still.... Pharking nice as... Damn I hope it sounds as good as the vibe it looks.

So I was looking around online for an inexpensive brass snare to mess around with, and I came across this thing on EBay UK. I asked about it in another thread, as I was not familiar with the Cannon brand.
After some back and forth, the story was, the seller bought a bunch of drums and percussion pieces from an elderly gentleman who was associated with the late Queen’s Military Band; even showed him photos of himself with the Queen. (None with her and the snare, sadly). True story or not, I bought the snare anyway
I gave it a ((Tama Bell Brass)) makeover with a patina and new die cast hoops and a Gibraltar throw - it sounds fantastic and hasn’t left the stand since. Here’s what it looks like now - I don’t know if the old gentleman would be happy to know his royal snare now sits in Boston and looks like this, but at least it’s making music again!
