What's the story behind your user name?

I guess I need to revisit this thread since I changed my username. Stasz (pronounced "stosh", rhymes with mosh) is part of my last name and is Polish for stanley. My first name is Ian but my US history teacher called me stasz so I went with it. Easier to remember than my old handle.

my studio and primary kit is a monster ddrum dios all bubinga kit. Dude. my avatar is pickles from deathklok (cartoon network's metalocalypse)

In Guitar Hero II, I had to make a band name so I put "tracks" (as in songs) together with "factor" (it sounds cool with anything). I had to put a little spice in it so I put two x's in it and came up with TraxxFactor. I use it for everything now i.e. usernames, xbox gamertag...

My name just rolls off the tongue.

And everyone seems to talk to me.

"Oops. I spelt that last word wrong."

Or...

"Oops, I spent too much time on Drummerworld and my lasagna burnt in the oven."

It's good. I've got pretty much world wide name recognition.

Us cymbalphiles could all be rightfully titled this. I mean how many drum guys carry hand-held scales in their pockets to the music stores or analyze Tony Williams' or Elvin Jones' snare from every aspect possible? We are the definition of obsessive fanaticism.

As to the classic, cult movie from the 1960's, I absolutely laugh until I am breathless at it every time I see it. I have witnessed two times in my life where the whole world has been gripped in total distrust and paranoia. Dr Strangelove points out the whole ridiculousness of this absurd behavior.

Mine came from a T-shirt I used to have.

The company that made the shirt went out of business, so I don't think they mind.

Shortly after taking the name 2bsticks I switched to using 5b's?

I love all kinds of percussion (not just kit drums)and have played in percussion groups.
But my natural tendancy at a kit is to play funk grooves - therefore Funkussionist.

Shark bait hoo ha ha !
its off finding nemo so i just took the shark bait bit !

I originally had the username "StickTrick" because I love sticktricks. I never ever use them live, but just love fooling around with them when watching TV. Then I got banned years ago along with some other guys... MFB got to keep his username (bastard) but I couldn't because I was too stupid to sign up with the same name again.

So now it's SickRick which is StickTrick without "T"s. The bad side about this is that everybody calls me Rick now... Didn't think that one through... :)

If I had kept my old account I'd be a Pioneer member now... damn!

Wow, that's a really cool story Rick... ;)

I showed up at this late-night [jazz] jam session in NYC and it was great. Great players, great atmosphere, and people were there just to listen to the music and everything - I ended up playing basically the whole night because I was the "only" drummer after the house guy got done (one other dude got on the drums, and it was apparent to everyone that we needed to get him off the drums...)

I show up the next week, and this oooooooold black dude (great upright bassist) immediately says "Aaahh! The Colonel's back!" and it's been a nickname of mine since then.

That and I used it when I came back on from getting banned cuz "Erik Lund" seemed a little too sexy/pornographic for a family website.

2 years ago i was walking down to the supermarket to get some coke, and suddenly a naked guy jumped off the roof of a house to my left and started to run down the street, then ran into the supermarket and started humping the cashiers and security guards and screamed "dynamokiev" repeatedly, while an old woman hit him with a broom on the head.

Back when I was a working drummer I was known for having a very solid groove. My band mates gave me the nick name.
