One-off kit? Congratulations, that's quite a find. I love the finish and the oak shells will have nice projection and volume.

The "built in" reinforcement rings are a nice touch. Stephan Fidock, a custom drum manufacturer from Victoria, here in Australia, has been using this method for some time now. An innovative touch.

Sorry dears, Stave snare drums, and bass drums go back to the 1600's in Scotland England and France... it can't be re-invented... It can be improved and rediscovered, but not re invented... I'm a stickler for these things, but agree these are beautiful...
