Well...I've been trying to get my "dream" drums for nearly a year now. I really love Classic Maples. This is what drums *should* sound like, to me.
I won't go into too much detail but it's fair to say that I've had a *lot* of problems getting those dream drums. Some of you might remember the posts from last summer, where I took a router to my bass drum hoops in an attempt to correct a bass drum that was impossible to tune. I eventually sent that kit back, out of frustration.
I tried again in December and ten weeks later, I received the drums. There were issues...it's all I'm gonna say. They were promptly returned and all contact was severed w/ the dealer I had gone through. It wasn't a good experience all around, mostly with the dealer himself.
SO...I tried again, as crazy as that sounds. I went with Shane at Just Drums, who is a member here and is the absolutely BEST person you could possibly hope to deal with. I explained my mishaps and he immediately went to bat for me. I got the absolute reassurance from everyone who is anyone at Ludwig that I would get those dream drums and they'd be perfect. I've never heard of customer service like this *anywhere*, so thanks again Shane.
Being a top dealer for Ludwig, Shane had the opportunity to tour the plant in Monroe, NC and actually watch my drums being assembled! Here are the pics. It'll be a nice teaser until they get here and can post pics of my own.
If you're on Facebook, you can see a ton of pictures of his tour of the Ludwig plant here:

On the first image, notice that the order sheet says "Rush" and is flagged for extra special Quality Control. Way to go, Shane! I definitely earned it. The finish is the new wrap, "Silver Glass Glitter". Sexy, eh?
