Yamaha Drums

I already posted these pics in the "Show Off Your Yamahas" thread but I thought I'd post them here too. My favorite pics of my kit so far. Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute (1st generation) 8,10,12, & 16 mounted toms with 18x22 kick, COB Supra snare, Hex Rack, DW 9000 pedals, Zildjian K's, Roland SPD-S and Audix mics. These were taken with my phone at Anchor Inn outside of Omaha, NE on the Missouri River on May 21, 2010. Turned out to be a very fun gig.

You're too kind. If it helps any, it took me 8 years to get it like this. If I had all the money to do it at once, I'd definitely get the same thing except they'd be the current MCA's with those sweet looking hook lugs and perhaps the White Luminous Sparkle finish that glows green under black light. That would be awesome!

That "Plum" finish was SOOOOO Rich and expensive looking; I can't believe they don't offer it anymore. Nobody else has that color either. I had that one, by the way.

The only problem with the plum finish is that it looks like it's black on most stages. It only shows up as purple in really well lit situations.

I switched from pdp to Yamaha drums.

Yamaha stage custom in Raven black.
20" bassdrum, 8", 10" and 12" toms, 14" floortom.
13" Musashi snaredrum.

Not sure if this has been covered here yet:
70 of limited edition RC sets in vintage natural finish will be available to Europe only, starting from may this year. I have to say I got pretty excited about it! :)

The specs are close to the original YD9000 birch sets, with one ply thinner bass drums and very slightly different bearing edges and of course new hardware, the Y.E.S.S. mounts etc.

Here's one of my kits of the YD9000E/AE series from around 1979 and a page from the 1981 brochure.

Just purchased a new Oak Custom kit this week in Musashi black (8", 10", 12" rack toms, 14" and 16" floor, 22" bass, 5.5x14" snare). I'd been playing on the Stage Customs for 7 years or so, and on a 1986 Tama Swingstar kit for @ 19 years before that. I want to thank you guys for all your opinions as I researched this site quite extensively before making the purchase. I'm new to this forum and really wish I knew about this site a long time ago. Plenty of great information here. Thanks again.
