Transcribing Help

Hi all,

I'm venturing into transcribing for the first time, and being a beginner my ears are not yet attuned to whats being played and the sticking. Hopefully someone can spare a minute or two and help.

The song is You Found Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFg_8u87zT0&ob=av2n) and its the tom groove played from about 2.20 to 2.30.

I'm thinking its the below (hopefully image is viewable) but would like advice.

Thanks,

I saw a couple of other videos of this song and the drummer's still playing a 4-piece, so it's pretty safe to say that the song was recorded with one. That transcription looks right, but if he's playing only two toms, then that last 16th note sounds like to me.

I usually adapt transcriptions of songs to fit my own 5-piece kit, so although that may not be exactly what he's playing in the recording, your transcription works fine anyway.

Thanks guys. I hadn't seen those live videos before. I know he sometimes plays the drums different compared to the album version anyway, but presuming he's playing a 4 piece exactly the same as the album song, I think my transcription (or at least sticking) might be wrong.

I have it playing the second downbeat on the snare with the right hand, and in the live videos he uses his left, so something is not right even if it's probably close enough.

(Thinking more though, and trying to work out exactly what is being played, it looks to me that on the live one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31t8MBrDI_8 he hits the 16th tom only once in the groove, where as I have three tom hits. Could it be he's using the bass in between instead and I'm not quite hearing it through the mix?)
