The best way to learn to read these is to listen to the original song and follow the chart. Then start to play one section at a time.
Some basics though - the four spaces on the stave represent the 4 main drums from largest (bass drum) at the bottom to smallest (small tom) at the top. Snare will be the third space up - just above the middle line.
X's represent metallic sounds - usually cymbals and hihats. Normal round notes represent drums.
Beyond that its just standard music notation to show the rhythms.
If you aren't comfortable with notation, you'll benefit from a teacher who can instruct you, and interactively answer questions and give instant examples. Trying to learn to read notation from a document can be needlessly confusing, and can take much longer to reach your goal.
I know that there are a lot of free resources online, but reading music has genuine value, and it's worth paying a teacher to get it right.
