Larry

"Uncle Larry"
Here you go!

The new drums are the 2 maple segmented drums. Yes the bass drum is 20 x 14. It looks much deeper even in the flesh.

Dang, that's pretty.

Nobody else can get Gurus anymore. Thanks for the reminder.

Looks incredible. Prefer the metal hoops though :)

Someone hit the proverbial lottery!

Larry, The only question about that kit..... Are blondes really more fun, or is that just an old (ex)wives tale?

Dang those are sweet. I don't care for the wood tom hoops, but everything else is really sweet.

Thanks guys. The wood hoops do sound better than metal hoops, I tried.

But they do need more tuning and fussing with head changes.

I love the maple drums because the hoops don't contrast like all the other drums I have. So it's refreshing.

The maple snare is 14 x 6.5" deep and is a POP machine.

I wish I would have ordered a 13 and 16 in hindsight.

Before I got the maples, I would have said my walnuts were more fun. I think of my ash drums...if they were women, they would be like Marilyn Monroe. Beautiful but high maintenance.

I think of the walnut drums like Naomi Campbell. If she were fun. She doesn't look fun to me.

My Padauk snare is like my favorite redhead, which changes weekly.

Not sure who the maple drums are yet. Suzanne Somers?

Beautiful. Craftsmanship that produces art.

You've been mixing & matching again, haven't you ;)

No, what makes you say that :)

I have a mismatched 6 piece miced for recording, a mismatched 5 piece as a 2nd kit for the studio, and a matched 4 piece to gig with. The matched 4 piece is actually a matched 5 piece, sort of, I have 2 bass drums to pick from, bop or regular, depending on the stage size. Plus I have 2 extra snares. What more could a man ask for?

It works out best for my needs that I match and mix.

The maple segmenteds are just wonderful instruments, and I love the look.

Just...WOW! Is there any reason to need any more drums? That is like the ultimate collection. I would imagine you now have everything covered sonically.

Gurus are just so beautiful. Since they perform as they look, this would be akin to owning multiple Ferraris.

Kaley Cuoko for the maples, Uncle Larry. Susanne Summers is not good enough!

I'd buy an aluminum set of drums. That's about it. But I have no desire for them....today.

Don't be talking smack about Suzanne now. She's plenty good enough. Kaley is too.
