Do port hole sizes change with the drum head size?

Looking for a white Aquarian reso head for my 18 bass drum. But I don't wanna buy it if the hole is the same size as a 22 hole. Shouldn't the port hole be way smaller for a 18 reso head?

Just create a hole yourself.

18" bass drums aren't regularly ported, since they're normally played in a jazz setting, but I think a smallish 3.5" to 4" hole would be fine.

Yes.
I have an 18" "Kick Tom" that I use for my jazz gigs and I used a TomPort by KickPort on the front. Small enough to fit the drum, yet gives me just enough of the boom I desired.

I use the "hot can" method, especially for smaller ports.

There is also the school of thought that you may get a better sound without a port on an 18" kick.

I tried both and the small port allowed just enough air to move that the pitch dropped.
I now use a 16" with the TomPort and it really helped.
