Replacement strainer for Ludwig Universal?

I've got a Ludwig NOB Universal drum, and I was looking to replace the hoops on it. But upon trying to seat my new triple flange hoop on the batter head, i notice that the strainer is getting in the way.

This is the drum and the strainer that is on it.

As you can see, the strainer sits really high, and actually I might not even be able to get the head to the tension i want with the strainer in the way.

This is not the original strainer for the drum, the drum is from the 20's but the strainer i think is from the 30's or 40's. I dont want drill any more holes into this old drum, but it already has a few holes drilled into it.

Do you guys know of any strainers that might fit the original hole pattern, or the hold pattern of this later strainer? I'm ordering off of drumfactorydirect to get some hoops and lugs for this drum, so if you guys know of a strainer from there, please do recommend.

Here are some pictures of the new hoop, which sits lower, interfering with the strainer.

First you should measure the distance between the mounting holes to see what you're working with. Looks like you have several possible mounting locations.

Also don't forget to account for the hump in the middle of the drum. Some strainers are not compatible, and some strainers can accommodate adapters to get over the hump.

If clearance is still an issue for any replacement strainer you find, you can certainly look into a piccolo strainer. They're shorter for this very reason.

EDIT: Looks like the Ludwig P80 or the P83 piccolo strainers could work if the holes line up, and it wouldn't look half bad on that drum.

The original holes for the stock strainer are 1" apart, but they aren't aligned perfectly, and I'm slightly hesitant to use them. But I will end up using the original holes because all secondary holes are even worse.

I'm thinking I'm going to use the Worldmaz S-3C since it has 1" spacing and looks like it will fit. None of the piccolo options on drum factory direct have a 1" hole spacing.
