Starting over

It has been probably 3 or 4 years since I have played with a band. I've been asked to come and play with my dad, a guy he works with and his son. I haven't even had a drum set put together in over 2 years. I'm a little nervous.

I've always been a lazy drummer. Tended to be good enough naturally to cover for myself, but never motivated enough to practice. And I'm aware of how good I am not. Always been sloppy and I would really like to clean up. On top of everything else, I have had a baby a year and a half ago.

Since I feel like I'm really starting over, I'm wanting to take it a bit more seriously but have less time than ever. I'm wondering if any of you have had a long absence like this and got back into it.

but I just wanted to say I think its great that yr picking up the sticks again

just go for it and dont worry about anything because it doesnt get you anywhere

all inhibitions in the trash can.......just play like you know you can

32 year absence and back in it for 5 now
