Dirty jazz fusion groups?

Hey all-

I've absolutely fallen in love with Snarky Puppy and Jojo Mayer / The Nerve. I've looked into other Jazz Fusion groups and really liked it, but my favourite songs are the ones with gritty bass synth sounds. I'm specifically looking at the end of "Binky" by Snarky Puppy, "Blue Matter" by John Scofield, and "Loot" by Jojo Mayer as examples of what I really like. Does anyone have suggestions for more groups that utilize this sound? Thanks!

Benny Greb's Moving Parts could have some stuff for you. Here's "Bunker". It's quite a tangential album though, so there aren't many other songs specifically like it on the album.

Evan Brewer can go pretty hard with the groove, he's a bassist so his solo stuff has plenty of interesting, often aggressive basslines.

I hear good things about the band Dirty Loops as well. Not too familiar though.

I love the Coryell band albums - more of a raw feel than the other top fusion groups.

One tune which I'd been struggling to remember and finally just did with a gritty synth sound for the OP is Darkness/Earth in Search of a Sun on the live Jeff Beck & Jan Hammer album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ap04rbrKmVw

I'll add Zappa's Pound for a Brown even if it's not a synth bass because the basslines and bass sound are so good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOtuqYzJTsM#t=14m35s
