What an amazing show that was!

Wonderful time, sound, feel... Wow.
Well deserved standing ovation - it's great to see excellent music appreciated.

Was anyone else there?

Know anyone who Periscoped it?

Right o' mate. The actual Gadd show starts @ 18:10 and the audio blows up @21:16 BTW

Interesting, it doesn't look like any K CUSTOM SESSION cymbals up. I love my HH bottom cymbal rivets and Gadd sports em' here, real big ones too!

Lots of tape on the 10" and FT's, 12 just a dab comparably... a testament to the YAMAHA's capabilities? What this vid does prove tho is, if you sit behind some well known drummers kits and play them, you just might think they sound like ass.

Solos

@ 24:34 - Garden variety wrist powered Gadd tom/bass triplets/quads.

@ 1:09:50 Gadd goes gospel chops, again with default triplets/quads.

@1:36:00 If the trademark Mozambique flavored solo is going to happen tonight its going to be here, unfortunately not so, almost tho and... ummmm, I don't think I've heard the cowbell all night, did I miss it?

It all ends, but they get an encore @1:40:20, they go back to church with a Landau blues tune. Fabulous! Gadd 'is' phenomenal at 70!

There's something about septuagenarians touring around playing music that's so quaint ;)

I found out about this too late, by then it was sold out

Glad you enjoyed! I'd live to see him in person one day.

The key words in my sentence were "just got together" , not "jam band" ;)

They really are a jam band, I'm sure they would agree.

Then they actually sound like some of the best musicians in the world, which they are. They've made two CDs already as the Steve Gadd Band, and they have been James Taylor's band for years.

So your key words are inaccurate, sorry ;-)

Too bad they pulled it off YT, I hadn't finished watching the whole concert yet.
It may be available on DVD soon..

+1

I would enjoy listening to these guys noodling for hours...
I enjoyed the fluid jam-like feel :)

You can see it pay per view from the Ronnie Scott's website.
£4.5 / $7 for 30 days unlimited viewing - totally worth it.
