Your winning lottery ticket and its effect.

Nothing would change drum wise for me.

I’d keep working, maybe,… maybe get my CPA, pay off house for our daughter to have, vehicles, lay a good patch to my immediate family and move to the rez.

Possibly relocate and work for Indigenous Affairs or a local chapter or even The Nation in NW NM.

But before or after, hopefully there’s no conflict of interest, donate the rest to my peoples of Jicarilla Apache nation, maybe via third party.

I’d love to be involved with grants and MMIP (this is a hot issue with me).

I’d look into civil engineering infrastructures, dedicated transportation to and from the rez, better onsite IHS infrastructures including state of the art or close to SOTA equipment and skilled services, also including counseling for mental health, paved roads - due to inefficient means, not being able to simply leave or return home during or after a steady rainstorm - it is actually a thing, upgraded heavy equipment as this is the means of communal projects, and public sewer systems.

but as I have become older and wiser, my needs list has also been pared down a bit..like I don't need a 70's era Jeep CJ-7; or another drum set; or another mountain bike....
I've learned that I just dont need stuff, minus a few things*. What I really need is stuff to do, and there is plenty of that around here.

*minus tools. I have a lot of tools but use them all constantly.

Yeah, 250k. That's not much money to spend lavishly, is it? Not sure what I'd do there.

When I think about buying a nice car/bike I don't get far. I'd have to clear the garage out and nothing's worth that amount of work. You can barely find the cars that are in there now, and they're pretty cool.
Holly molly and I thought my garage was bad... well maybe it wouldn't feel like such a chore if you do it in increments, like spend 20 min everyday just getting rid of stuff that really is NOT needed, then in a week you will see a huge difference and it will hopefully be more motivational to finish the job.

I daydream about this stuff a lot. (I consider buying a lottery ticket a license to daydream for a bit, well worth the $2 for a ticket)

Initially, I'd still be playing the dive bars that my current group plays. I love my band and the people in it, and I love what we do. So I wouldn't be changing anything about that...

Other than nicer, new equipment. And a vehicle appropriate for the task and dedicated to it. (One of the first things I would buy beyond the home and family stuff would be to get my bass player a new Rickenbacker bass. He had three over his lifetime, and regrets having to sell them over the years. That would be a fun thing to do.)

At some point, I expect that I would have to move away from that gig. And I'm sure it would be interesting to see where it would all go. But right now, I would love to simply be able to dedicate my time to the group, and enjoy that for a while, without the 9-5 dragging me down. And it would be cool to take some of the load off the other guys who help put this all together, too.

I'd get biggie fries with my hamburger after the gig.

word.....biggie fries and 10 cheese White Castles, instead of 6 for me

splurging

Wow that's a lot. No judgment given, I'm just a skinny guy. Two or three cheeseburgers (at once) and I'm tapping out.

when I was in hhigh school, mmy normal "weekend meal" could have been any off the following:
2-3 Quarter Pounders or Whoppers or Wendy's Doubles or Rax BBQ Beef
a 16" pizza to my self
20 White Castle cheeseburgers

I used to pack it in!

as a 53 year old, I now only can get 1 sandwich down, or a 7" pizza; my usual Whiteys order is 8 now

and it is no surprise that I have Type 2 diabetes b/c of being a fat Midwestern kid of the 80's

No cheese for me. 4 of them are a lot. 3 is normal with fries. 4 without.

man, I can't do them without cheese..i mean I will.. I usually don't turn down a White Castle, but I prefer the cheese ones

Besides playing music, I probably would never be seen in public again.

Spoken like a REAL introvert lol.

I've always been somewhat of an introvert, but I crave more and more quiet time alone the older I get. It's funny because I love playing music for people, and the bigger the crowd, the better. I really love it when people come up and talk to me after shows too, especially other drummers. However, I never go seek out someone to talk to. I like to pack up and leave ASAP.

These are White Castle "burgers" that they're talking about. In fact, I'm not sure how anyone can even call a tiny, little White Castle slider a "burger" considering their precooked weight is less than an ounce.
We dont have White Castle here. I dont eat out anyhow unless necessary. I have issues with trusting other folks with my food.

We don't either, but I've had it. I'm not sure it would even thrive here, to be honest.

And I'm with ya on the food trust issues.........especially fast food. I haven't had it in years, but I'm seeing more and more stories about how entitled these workers feel and I don't want any disgruntled workers handling my food.
