your most favorite bassist/drummer rhythm section

Stolen from cbphoto's question in another thread....

who is your most fav/inspirational bassist/drummer combos?

For me it is:

1. Geddy and Neil
2. Eugene Wright/Joe Morello
3. Steve Harris/Nicko McBrain
4. Mark Zonder/Joe Dibiase
5. Les Claypool/Tim Alexander
6. Joey Vera/Gonzo; Bobby Jarzombek
7. Eddie Jackson/Scott Rockenfield
8. James Jamerson/William "Benny" Benjamin
9. Frank Bello/Charlie Benante
10. Bob Daisley/Lee Kerslake

-these were the guys who I grew up learning from. and emulating
Geddy n Neil
Moon and Entwistle
Glover and Paice
Bonzo n jones
Anything with Nathan East on bass.......with any number of drummers Ferrone, Mason etc.

Chris Layton/Tommy Shannon from Double Trouble (SRV) also held down a mean foundation

Clearly some awesome combos have been mentioned above as well.
Nathan East awesome tone.
Glover and Paice
Butler and Ward
Jones and Bonham
Sarzo and Aldrige
Commerford and Wilk
Mel Schacher and Don Brewer
at the time..
Glover and Paice
Butler and Ward
Jones and Bonham
Sarzo and Aldrige
Commerford and Wilk

I should have put Sarzo and Aldridge next to my Lee and Kerslake tandem!!!
Many good examples above but you forgot
Sean Reinert and Sean Malone, from the bands Cynic and Gordian Knot.
Both died in 2020.

And how about Vinnie and Arthur Barrow, from the Zappa days.

Jimmy Johnson with Husband or Wackerman, from the Holdsworth band.
Came here to say Reinert/Malone. Their Cynic & Gordian Knot works are top shelf, but don't sleep on the first Aghora album or the Anomaly album, where they absolutely OWN Led Zep's Rain Song

I hear different relationships as being primary across some of the mentioned pairings.

In The police, I always heard Stewart and Andy working together more than Stewart and Sting.

P. Tree (Tilburg era) I hear more congruence between Barberi and Harrison than Edwin and Harrison.

I also hear more time 'groove/pocket' between Lifeson and Peart than Lee and Peart.

Thanks to this thread, I think i do not focus on one specific sound bandwidth(low) when listening to feel...which can explain the occasional bass player looking at me sideways...which always sounded to me like the bass player wanting to go someplace where the rest of the band was not.
