Nice looking drum! $450 Canadian is $328 American. I'd go for it... depending on the shape. The pictures look pretty good.

One word of advice (you don't have to take it), if you buy it, lose the batter head die cast hoop and put on a triple-flanged hoop.

Good luck!

Yea he said on the ad that the diecast hoop will b taken off and triple flange will b on when its for sale. I am still sitting on this and may contact him to see if he will give me the snare and case for like 420

Btw i hear a lotta good and bad mixed things about diecast hoops but never used them.. why do u think its bad?

I don't think it's bad necessarily, they just focus the sound a little too much for my liking... the drum doesn't see to open up the way I like.

Need help matching serial number to determine what year is my acrolite.
Serial # 311493 8
It's the one with the textured finish on shell.
I haven't been able to reference on the Ludwig site.
Any suggestions?

Assuming its a blue/olive badge, its from the 1980s. Unfortunately, ludwig serial numbers only can be reasonably used to date drums prior to 1980.

Yes, it's the Blue/Olive rounded corners badge.
I would have guessed late 70's but number doesn't suggest that.
Don't really know if the textured finish adds any value to it or not but it is a nice drum.
Just picked it up off of E-Bay recently.
Thanks for the help!
