Today’s video features another Yamaha Stage Custom, but this time, not in bop sizes! The kit we used comes in a “Cranberry Red” lacquer finish. For this demo, we put Remo Coated Ambassadors on the tom batters and Clear Ambassadors on the resos.

This configuration is:
20 x 17 Bass Drum
10 x 7 Rack Tom
12 x 8 Rack Tom
14 x 13 Floor Tom
16 x 15 Floor Tom

+6-ply 6mm all-birch shells
+45 degree bearing edges
+YESS tom mount with CL-945LB tom holder positions easily, won't hinder sustain
+1.5mm triple-flanged hoops
+Die-cast bass claw hooks with rubber inserts

Snare: Mapex Black Panther "Deep Forest" 6.5x14 Walnut

Cymbals: Istanbul Agop 22" Special Edition Jazz Ride, Istanbul Agop 20" Xist Extra Dry Ride, Meinl 20" Jazz Thin Ride (cracked), Meinl 15" Dual Hats

Mics used: Shure Beta 52, Shure Beta 56a, Shure KSM109

Did you add the 16" floor tom afterwards? They're usually sold as 20/10/12/14.

Also - maybe next time you could use the Stage Custom snare.

Probably better sounding with clear heads. Remo coated seems dead to me except hitting a single with no other drums.🤔

The kit sounds great....because it’s being played by a skilled player. Any drum or kit can sound great if it’s played well. It’s the archer, not the arrow.
