That's the first black SC bop kit I've seen. It looks good.
I guess the black bass drum resonant head didn't sit so well with you? All white heads look right on there.
Hey guys - is there anyone out there in Yamaha land that own or have seen an MCAN/BCAN kit in Caramel Sparkle? Not Gold, it's darker than that. Got a picture? What do you think, is it the best colour ever or just pretty good..or worse?
Not many kits in that colour around....

There's one on ebay right now, but the seller's pics are crappy.

Found this Caramel Sparkle pic here on the forum
That there is my very own Caramel Sparkle snare, photo taken in my living room.
The lacquer finish is absolutely gorgeous, much nicer than a wrap. To be honest, it does depend on the lighting. That photo was taken next to my balcony doors in natural daylight here in the sunny South of France. So the conditions were perfect for bringing out the best of the finish.
It is however a "dark" sparkle, as opposed to a bright sparkle finish like silver, gold, etc.
So, when the lights are to low, the finish sort of loses a bit of depth. The snare suffers most from this as it's obscured by the rest of my kit which is in a natural walnut finish and doesn't reflect light that much. However, a full set in this finish would probably look really nice together.
Agree that the photos on the EBay listing don't give a true impression. The photographer seems to have gone overboard with lighting and used the camera flash to close to the drums.
Excellent info, thank you!
It seems that "Copper Sparkle" might be an apt name also...

Congrats! I knew, I mean I just knew you were going to buy them! I can't wait to see the pics.
I also have this idea of owning most or all of the Japanese Yammie kits. So far I have RC, Tour Custom, Oak Custom and I'm piecing together a Cherrywood BCAN 'just because.' I have 8, 10 (on the way) and 12 so far. Looking for 14 and 22. At one point I had 4 kits worth of RC's, but have sold off many of them.
I think everyone on here needs an intervention. But, you know I was at a rehearsal today for a new project. We were in the guitarist's basement. On each wall hangs at least 4 guitars. So it goes...
