Hi Drummerworld,

I haven't been on here much in recent years but just want to acknowledge the passing of drummerworld member Wy Yung from Australia, aka Dale Cleary. You might remember his impressive arsenal of gear which he posted many pictures of, or his long and thoughtful posts. He was a teacher and a professional and I believe had many great discussions with a lot of you guys, so I felt it I should pass on the news. I thought of asking him for some help with technique recently (as I think he was quite a technique specialist) and it wasn't long after that that I saw a facebook post about his passing.

Thanks for the memorial and testimony to a musicians life well-lived Duck. Sad to hear his passing and my condolences to his family and friends. Glad to see you're still alive and kicking Duck tape you don't visit as often. I often wonder what happens to posters who disappear-just busy, lost interest, or a health issue. I'm sure some have passed without notice sadly-since I doubt many a spouse or partner would know or bother to post a notice here-though I know one has.

Thanks for posting that. I had not seen that writeup or that video. He sounded great, and not just for someone who'd been away from the drums.

Getagrippa, good to see you're still posting and hope you're doing well too. I think I have an addictive personality and do things to death (one of them being this forum) and then move onto something else, maybe Dale was the same.

I remember some of the animated discussions that were had and I'm sorry to hear of his passing. It's been a long time since he posted here but I know many of the regulars here will remember him. Thanks for posting, Duck Tape.

Sorry to learn about this. I don't recall any direct interactions with him but remember reading and enjoying a number of conversations in which he participated. And I reckon he'll continue to live and contribute within the records of those conversations.
