A few clarifications:

Gretsch Drums - KMC does NOT own the Gretsch name, nor the actual company. KMC does own all distribution rights, and most production rights. Very little of Gretsch is still owned by the Gretsch family, but technically, on paper, the Gretsch family still own the Gretsch company itself.

Kat Percussion - KMC has a license deal to sell e-drums under the KAT name, but does not own the entire KAT company.

Sabian - This is a distribution deal only. KMC does not actually own any part of Sabian.

Vic Firth - Another distribution deal. Vic Firth itself is owned by Zildjian.

On the other hand, Gibraltar Hardware, LP and Toca are indeed 100% owned by KMC.

KMC themselves are owned by Fender Guitars.

An addition to all of the above, KMC also have non-exclusvie distribution deals with most of the major stick and head companies. You could open a very well rounded fully stocked music store on nothing but KMC distributed products.
